A Special Yoga foundation training will give you the tools to bring the children in your care to a space of calm, promoting learning, healing and joy.

This Special Yoga for Special Children course provides you with the knowledge and techniques to support children with a diverse range of additional needs. On completion, you’ll be confident to assist children with diagnoses of autism, cerebral palsy, PMLD and down syndrome, in addition to complex needs and anxiety disorders, and to guide groups or 1:1 in holistic practices to foster their physical, emotional and mental well-being.

Course Structure & Timetable

The course will be taught over three days of in person training, two live webinars and study groups. Learning is supported with a Resource Library of videos demonstrating practices nad giving examples of their use with the children.

Learn the methodology, make observations of teachers practising with children, start to shape and share with your peer community

Live Webinars Via Zoom

Continue the learning and work with your peers in study groups following assignments to enhance your understanding of the practices and how to adapt them.

Community and Resources
From the start of the course your learning will be enriched by becoming part of an exclusive course community space where you can chat to teachers and your peers online and gain access to the Resource Library.

This video and written guidance will consolidate your in person learning of the methodology and includes film of Jyoti and senior practitioners adapting the practices as they work with children with a variety of diagnoses

You’ll also join the wider Special Yoga community where you’ll find practices for self care, regular news posts and book and music recommendations.

Personal Assignments
There are three personal assignment for you to complete on this course.

Certification and Time Commitment

If you are planning to work with children using the Special Yoga methodology and practices you learn on this course you will need to be insured.

To become insured you will need to show evidence of your training in the form of a certificate. Please note that to become certified you will need to:

  1. Attend and fully participate in all Training Events and study groups and complete all study group assignments.

  2. Submit all personal assignments on time and reach the standard required as assessed by their Study Group Leader.

  3. Complete a minimum of 85% of the course content.

In addition to the in person teaching days, 4 hours of live webinars and 2 hours of study groups it is recommended that you set aside two hours weekly for learning via the handbook and resource library.  You will also benefit from developing a personal practise, the more time that you put into this the more you will get out this course. Please plan ahead and set aside this time before the course starts.

Course Cancellations & Refunds

If you have booked onto a course, you will not be eligible for a refund unless it has been cancelled by us.

If you have signed up to a payment plan you are reminded that when purchasing you have agreed to continue to make those payments until the full amount of the course fee is paid.

If the course you have booked has a wait list we occasionally agree a transfer to a later intake. Please contact info@specialyoga.co.uk to enquire if this is the case.
